From the cellar door to the Cartizze, by e‑bike

A self-guided day through the Prosecco Hills, starting and ending at La Tordera.

The Vettoretti family has been making wine in these hills since 1918, when grandfather Giuseppe planted his first vineyard on the Cartizze hill. Today La Tordera’s wines come from three distinct terroirs: the Cartizze, the steep Rive of Guia and the old vineyards on the hills of Vidor. This ride starts at the winery’s door in Vidor and takes you through that same landscape, from the saddle: small roads and gravel tracks among the vineyards, far from the usual routes.

Your day on the hills

  1. km 0
    La Tordera, Vidor. Your e-bikes are waiting at the winery. The first kilometres cross the countryside below the hills, facing Monte Cesen.
  2. km 5
    The Rive of Colbertaldo. The first climb: steep vineyards and wide views.
  3. km 10
    Col San Martino to Guia. One of the most scenic roads of the whole Prosecco Hills.
  4. km 17
    Osteria Senz’Oste. The icon of these hills: no host, you pour your own and leave an offering, looking over the Cartizze.
  5. km 19
    Into the Cartizze. A plunge into the most famous slopes of Prosecco, and a stop at the 360° Terrazza Colesel.
  6. km 25
    The hidden Rive. Bigolino, San Vito, the Great War trenches of the Montagnola, and the Rive of Vidor back to the winery.

How to use Ride with GPS

  1. Install the free Ride with GPS app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Scan the QR code or tap the button and sign in with a free Ride with GPS account: the ride syncs to the app.
  3. Download the route for offline use before you set off: the signal comes and goes in the hills.
  4. Tap Navigate, turn on Handlebar mode and keep the screen on: you get turn-by-turn voice directions.
  5. Tap the icons on the map: viewpoints, the Osteria and every Caution point show up along the way.

Good to know

  • Start at 10:00 from La Tordera, Via Alnè Bosco 23, Vidor. Your e-bikes are delivered to the winery.
  • Six short steep sections, uphill and downhill, are flagged as Caution in the app. Brake early, ride slowly, walk when in doubt.
  • Not confident on steep descents? Tell us before the day and we will suggest an alternative.
  • Bring some cash for the Osteria Senz’Oste: it works on trust.
  • Helmet on, phone charged (a power bank helps) and a full water bottle each.
